Henham Park is the largest estate we are listed at, and the one where the catering is least constrained.

We are on their list

Henham Park publishes a list of recommended wedding suppliers and we are on it under catering. Their own wording is refreshingly open: you are welcome to choose whichever caterer you want, from street food to a formal three-course wedding breakfast.

A venue that says that is a venue confident in the people it recommends.

The barns, and the estate

The Henham Barns sit in Henham Park near Southwold, about ten minutes from the coast — restored Suffolk oak beams and red brick, updated behind the scenes.

Access runs from Friday 9am to Sunday 5pm, which is unusually generous. It means set-up is calm, the day itself is not a race, and a wedding can genuinely be a weekend rather than an afternoon.

What catering there involves

Because there is no fixed catering arrangement, the interesting question at Henham is what you actually want rather than what the building will allow.

A formal seated three courses in the barns. A sharing table down the length of them. A barbecue outside in July, with a written wet-weather version agreed in advance. Or all three across a weekend — something relaxed on the Friday, the wedding on the Saturday, and a long lunch before everyone leaves.

A full weekend

The three-day window is the thing most couples underuse. If people are travelling to the Suffolk coast for a wedding, they are staying — and feeding them on the Friday evening and the Sunday is usually the difference between a wedding and a weekend everybody remembers.

Worth talking through early, because it changes the shape of the quote rather than just adding to it.
